Final Table

Seat 1: Kamel Bekhaled (Noumea, New Caledonia) - 850,000 chips

Kamel Bekhaled is a 39-year old who hails from New Calendonia to bring a true International flavour to the ANZPT Gold Coast final table. He has been playing poker for two years after learning through the help of his friends. Kamel says that he enjoys being creative and this is highlighted through his occupation as an Architect as well as through his play on the poker tables. With one other small cash in an ANZPT side event to his credit, this will be Kamel's biggest poker accomplishment. He rose to prominence late on Day 3 as he surged into the chip lead before finishing well-placed as the third largest stack of the final table.

Seat 2: Norah Greer (Brisbane, Queensland) - 84,000 chips

Unfortunately very little is known about our last woman standing, as Norah Greer's limited bio sheet information and lack of previous tournament results make her an unknown quantity on this final table. Perhaps her mystery is by design, after describing her biggest poker influences as "whatever" and her hobbies as "life", but we certainly know she's a fan favourite and there will be a big rail tomorrow to cheer her towards a few double ups as the short stack of this final table.

Seat 3: Paul Hockin (Hamilton, New Zealand) - 674,000 chips

A little research on 24-year old Paul Hockin may only reveal one previous live cash result, in the 2008 APPT Auckland Main Event, but his live poker resume belies a ferocious online poker talent. Hockin recorded one of the largest scores in New Zealand poker history with Sunday major win for over US$200,000, and credits firends James Honeybone and Sam Williams as his biggest influences. Off the felt, Paul enjoys sports such as cricket and rugby league, and if it's a long final table, we're sure he'll have the stamina after running a marathon just last month! Paul will enter the final table with the fourth largest chip stack.

Seat 4: Blain Robertson (Mackay, Queensland) - 267,000 chips

Blain Robertson is a 42-year old Mining Supervisor from Mackay here in Queensland. He's been playing poker for five years, primarily in multi-table tournaments. After finishing 17th in this event last year, Blain has been able to improve on that as he looks to grab the biggest cash of his career. Away from poker, Blain enjoys motorcycles and breeds purebred Rottweilers. He'll need to find some bite on this final table as he enters as one of the shorter stacks in the field.

Seat 5: Julian Cohen (Melbourne, Victoria) - 460,000 chips

25-year old Julian Cohen is gunning to become the first player to win two ANZPT titles as the 2010 ANZPT Queenstown champion has reached another final table. Julian has been playing poker for five years after being pushed by friends including James Honeybone, Gautam Dhingra, Samuel Constantinou and brother Hugh Cohen. Julian is a regular in the mid-to-high stakes multi-table tournaments on PokerStars who pulled off a remarkable comeback to reach this point in the tournament. After spiking a three-outer ace to stay alive, Julian was the crippled on the final table before turning things around with a crucial aces versus kings hand to see him reach this final table in the middle of the pack.

Seat 6: Savvas Zenonos (Gold Coast, Queensland) - 384,000 chips

Savvas Zenonos is 41-year old local who also apparently doesn't really like filling out bio sheets. We're guessing that he's been playing poker for more than the "one week" that he described to us, as evident by tournament results dating back to 2006, including a WSOP cash in 2008. Savvos describes himself as "cool" and says that his hobbies outside of poker are "women". If he wins the title and first place prize money, then the women of the Gold Coast better watch out if Savvos celebrates on the town!

Seat 7: Leo Boxell (Melbourne, Victoria) - 923,000 chips

One of Australia's all time great players, Leo "The Mechanic" Boxell has a poker resume that dwarfs his opponents on this final table. With results dating back to 1998 including four APPT/ANZPT cashes, one WSOP cash, multiple New Zealand and Australian/Aussie Millions championships, and over US$700,000 in career earnings, Boxell is ranked in the Australian top 20 for all-time tournament earnings. In fact, earlier this week Australian Poker Hall of Fame Chairman Maurie Pears was quoted as saying, "It's not a matter of 'if' Leo will be inducted into the Hall of Fame, it's a matter of 'when'. An ANZPT title would almost certainly reiterate that statement and with the third largest chip stack, Boxell is definitely going to be tough to dislodge from this final table.

Seat 8: Peter Matusik (Raby Bay, Queensland) - 1,001,000 chips

Peter Matusik, or "Chewing Gum Pete" as he likes to be known, is a 70-year young retiree from Raby Bay in Queensland. He's been playing poker for about six years and enjoys playing tournaments and no limit holdem cash games up to $5/$10. Peter has a few other cash results to his credit, including a 41st place in the most recent ANZPT Main Event in Sydney, but this will be the biggest cash of his career. Entering the final table as our chip leader, Peter tells us that he is "never wrong" which doesn't bode well for his opposition at the final table!

Seat 9: Anthony Grange (Gold Coast, Queensland) - 128,000 chips

49-year old Anthony Grange is another of our local players who will be looking to keep the ANZPT Gold Coast title on home soil. A builder by trade, Anthony has been playing poker for ten years, and finished in the money in this event last year when he picked up over $5,000 for 25th place. He's already bettered that mark in what is the biggest result of his career. After leading for large periods of Day 3, Anthony snuck through to the final table as one of the short stacks and will be looking for an early double up to threaten for the title.
