AUSTRALIA NEW ZEALAND PLAYER OF THE YEAR – HOW IT WORKS

Points are awarded for participation (10 points) in each main event. Any player entering 7 or more events will receive a participation boost of 20 points. However, any Team PokerStars Australia Pro and runner up from Season 2 Player of the Year leaderboard will only receive this boost if the player/s they are contending with for a top 3 position is/are also eligible for a participation boost.

Additionally up to 63 players  who are ‘in the money’ will receive bonus points for each ANZPT event. Weighting is applied to bonus points according to the number of players. Details as follows:

BUY-IN WEIGHTING - The above points are for buy-ins of $2,000 to $3,000 (AUD or NZD). Buy-ins for eligible events less than $2,000 will carry a weighting of 0.75. Buy-ins for eligible events over $3,000 will carry a weighting of 1.5.

The above table does not include 10 participation points for each player in each event.

In the event of a tie, a countback will apply, according to highest placed players.

In the event of players making a deal to alter the prize payouts, further allocation of bonus points is suspended. For example, if a deal is made with three players remaining, all three players will receive bonus points for 3rd place.
